Cultivons Demain :
The Bordeaux Wines CSR approach

“We are a collective of informed and committed players, naturally engaged — our feet firmly planted in the soil, our eyes wide open to the major challenges facing tomorrow’s vineyards. We are inventing and transforming our practices to ensure the sustainable development of our businesses.”

In 2020, after more than 30 years of commitment to environmental progress, the Bordeaux wine sector decided to go even further in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Convinced of the strength of collective action, we created our own support framework for wine businesses — winegrowers, merchants and cooperative wineries alike. Its name? Cultivons Demain.

In 2024, Cultivons Demain brings together 96 certified companies (including 2 head offices), spread across the entire Bordeaux wine region:

  • 69 wine estates
  • 23 wine merchants
  • 1 cooperative winery
  • 9,598 hectares of vineyards
  • 3,330 employees
  • More than 30% of Bordeaux wine volumes

Both multi‑faceted and singular, Cultivons Demain brings us together — and reflects who we are. The initiative is designed to be:

  • Comprehensive: built on the ISO 26000 standard — the global benchmark for CSR strategy — it addresses all the key challenges of sustainable development;
  • Shared: co‑constructed with a wide range of stakeholders, it is firmly embedded in the day‑to‑day realities of every type of business;
  • Collective: it represents the commitment of the entire Bordeaux wine sector, from winegrowers to cooperative wineries and merchants;
  • Verified: the specifications are audited and recognised every year by Bureau Veritas, an independent certification body.
